Take a cruise around some of the many islands in the Gulf of Morbihan.
Ile aux Monies – about 4 miles long, it is the most populous and popular island in the gulf (only 5 mins ferry crossing from Baden). It is covered with sub-tropical vegetation – camellias, mimosas, orange trees and woodlands.
Ile d’Arz – slightly smaller and barren. Both islands have fishing villages with quaint cottages and lanes, several megaliths and pleasant beaches from which to paddle or swim.
Belle Ile ‘beautiful island’ deserves its name. The largest of the islands off the coast (10 miles long).Everything here will put you under its spell, – the green valleys, the moorland, the magnificent beachs and tiny villages with their quaint little houses.
Ile Houat is a haven of peach and quiet. Very few cars are allowed here. There is only the wind, the moor, the sand, the cliffs and a few low houses huddled together against the elements.
A variety of trips available – Tours of the Gulf of Morbihan, day trips, lunch and dinner cruises. Bike hire available on some islands. Sailings from Vannes, Port Navalo, Auray, Le Bono and Larmor Baden.
